Step1: Download and/or open the, “Authenticator” application on your mobile device and sign into your Minnesota State Microsoft account.

Step 2: When you are signed into the app you will see the listed accounts that are associated with the app. Go ahead and select your Minnesota State account.

Step 3: After selecting your account you will be provided with a list of options. To turn on the “Password-less” feature you need to select, “Enable phone sign-in” from the list.

Step 4: After Enabling “phone sign-in” you will see a screen that provides more information about using it’s features. You should have two green check marks indicating that you have met the requirements to activate the feature, tap “Continue”.

Step 5: Navigate to the Outlook Portal or other service that you use your Minnesota State account for and enter your StarID@minnstate.edu and click “next”. You will now notice a new link under the password field that reads, “Use an app instead.” Click that to begin using the “Password-less sign-in” feature. You should only have to click the link upon first enabling the feature and future logins should go directly to the app after entering your username.
