Microsoft Visual Studio is available for students in various computer classrooms on campus as well as in the computer labs.
Microsoft Visual Studio requires students and instructors to log in using their Office 365 credentials.
When you start Visual studio for the first time, you're asked to sign in and provide some basic registration information. You should choose a Microsoft account or school account that best represents you. You can use your school account as follows:
Username:
- Students: YourStarID@go.minnstate.edu
- Faculty: YourStarID@minnstate.edu
- Password: Your StarID password that you used to log into the computer
Why do we need to log in?
When you sign in, you enrich your Visual Studio experience. For example, after you sign in, you can synchronize your settings across devices, so your settings go with you on your personal devices and on the different computers you may use in the classroom.
