How to Correct the Error Message: Sorry, Access Denied
Body
Kaltura MediaSpace will only work correctly in certain browser environments. If you are seeing a message that says Access Denied, go through these troubleshooting steps:
- Use Google Chrome as your browser – it has proven to be most compatible with Brightspace.
- Refer below on steps to Enable third-party cookies in Chrome
- Disable any pop-up blockers while in Brightspace
- Be sure to clear cache/cookies
- Close your browser and re-open new windows
- Check if you need to install updates to your browser or OS
- Restart your computer
There are several troubleshooting steps we can take if we get specific errors in Kaltura, most prominently the Access Denied error. The steps below will take you through the process of enabling third-party cookies in Chrome, which almost universally resolves this and several other errors.
Allowing Third-Party Cookies in Chrome
1.) Open Chrome and select the moreicon in the top right corner
2.) Select Settings from the list
3.) Find the Privacy and Security section and select Site Settings
4.) From the Content section, select Cookies and site data
5.) Select either Allow all cookies or Block third-party cookies in Incognito
Once you’ve completed these steps (and the initial troubleshooting steps listed at the top of this article), return to Brightspace and attempt to access Kaltura MediaSpace again. If the error persists, contact Normandale ITS for additional help.
