As of July 18th, 2024: New option in “Grades > Settings”
D2L has released a new optional setting in Grades called “Automatic Zero for Missing Submissions”
**DISCLAIMER**: We recommend that instructors carefully consider the effects of this new setting before deciding whether to use it.

For example, consider how it fits with grading practices regarding culturally responsive policies, grading-turnaround timelines, assignment deadlines, etc.

We also highly recommend that instructors communicate clearly with students who receive an automatic “0” for missing submissions, and clearly state whether late submissions are allowed, and if so, under what circumstances.
