Honorlock announcement: This information was emailed to all faculty on May 14, 2026.

If you are currently using Honorlock for Spring 2026 Finals, note that the turnoff date is set for May 19th, sometime after the Noon grade submission deadline.

Tip! If you believe you will need to continue reviewing a student's Honorlock session after May 19th, be sure to use the "Download the Full Session" option and save it in a secure online location for future reference.

More details and support options:

Generally, Respondus works just as well and in some cases better than Honorlock, due to recent updates.

  • For example, some folks may elect to use Honorlock because of the "side view" camera option, but Respondus now has that option as well; we have tested this feature with both our IT student workers and our OSD staff, and it seems to work well and is easy for students to navigate.
  • The technical setup for both faculty and students is different for Respondus than for Honorlock.

Three main support options for faculty:

  1. Respondus resource page in the CTL D2L site

  2. e-Clinic schedule for a walkthrough of Respondus setup and feature selection (various days between now and Fall semester start)

  3. CTL Appointment schedule for 1:1 support

Tip!

Remember that Honorlock inserts a "Password" and an iFrame into each D2L Quiz where it is enabled.

  • Therefore, if you are planning to use a Quiz that was previously-enabled with Honorlock, be sure to watch this short video on how to check for any remnants of Honorlock that will need to be removed from the Quiz.
