Adding a YouTube video to Kaltura MediaSpace

This article walks through the steps of adding a YouTube video to your MediaSpace account. Note that only videos with a "public" setting are supported.

You can add YouTube videos to your Kaltura Media Space account to expand your library content. Note that only public videos from YouTube are supported, which helps ensure copyright compliance.

Add content from YouTube

Step 1- Find the YouTube video that you want to copy and select the Share button

Step 2 – In the pop-up window, select the Copy button to copy the link to the clipboard.

Step 3 – Log into your Kaltura MediaSpace account

Step 4 – Locate the Create button in the top right corner and select it. In the pop up menu choose “YouTube”

Step 5 – Paste the URL link copied from the YouTube page into the Video Page Link text box. When completed, select the Preview button below the text box.

Step 6 – Edit the details of the video. This can include the title, description, any tags for searching, publishing schedule, and publishing status. Once you have completed your edits, choose SAVE.

Step 7 – Once saved, you can also add collaborators if you wish. Otherwise select “Go To Media” to preview video.

Optional Step – If you wish to do more edits like editing closed captions, select the 3 horizontal dot menu to the right of Share (right bottom corner). You will get a menu to access more options.
