StarID vs. Student Tech ID
StarID
Your StarID is the identification number assigned when you first enter the Minnesota State system.
It is the same at all Minnesota State institutions and links your records across the system.
Example format: JX3333GH
Student Tech ID
Your Student Tech ID is a local ID number assigned when you are admitted to Normandale Community College.
It is unique to each institution and different from your StarID.
Example format: 11223355
Key Difference:
StarID = system-wide
Student Tech ID = college-specific
