Taking general education credits will assist you as a student with increasing your breath of knowledge going into your profession. These courses help you develop critical thinking skills that employers seek in their holistic process.
Additionally, most bachelor’s degrees will have two main parts required to graduate:
-
Major courses: Focused on your chosen field of study.
-
General education (liberal arts) courses: Provide a broad foundation to support your major.
While requirements can vary from college to college, most locations will require a set of general education requirements. In Minnesota, most colleges and universities will accept the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) which is designed to meet general education requirements for most majors within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
