Do I need to reapply to Normandale after taking some time off school?

Getting started again is easy!  Here's how:

  • If you have previously registered for classes at Normandale, you will need to reapply if it has been more than two years since you last attended.  You can complete a new application for admission here.
  • If you have attended Normandale within the last two years, we recommend that you complete the returning student process detailed below.

Returning student process:

  • Complete the Returning Student Form.  Your Normandale student email account will be reactivated 1 business day after this form is received.
  • Prior to meeting with Student Services, you can re-activate your Star ID login by resetting your Star ID and Star ID password on the Star ID Self-Service website:  starid.minnstate.edu. If the last time you attended Normandale was prior to 2013, you will need to activate a Star ID.  We recommend using a personal email address as the reset option.
  • Meet with a Student Services Coach:  After you complete the form, you will receive an email from Student Services in 1-3 business days with a link to schedule a Re-enrollment Appointment with a Coach.  You have the option to have the appointment over the phone or on Zoom.
  •  Meet with an Academic Advisor:  After your Re-enrollment Appointment with Student Services, you will be able to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to discuss your academic plan and register for courses.
