Endpoint Device Management

About

A technology asset is defined as any hardware, software, or digital resource that is owned, managed, or utilized by an organization to support its operational functions, service delivery, or strategic objectives. These assets are systematically tracked for purposes of inventory control, maintenance, security, and financial accountability.

At Normandale Community College, the Desktop Endpoint team oversees the full lifecycle of technology assets—from acquisition through retirement—to ensure the integrity and security of campus technology resources. The Technology Asset Manager is responsible for key processes including asset tagging and inventory management, handling recycled and surplus equipment, performing secure data sanitization, and coordinating the redistribution of technology assets across departments.

Endpoint Inventory

At Normandale, the Desktop Endpoint team oversees the identification, monitoring, and redistribution of institutional technology resources throughout their operational lifespan. As part of compliance with Minnesota State system requirements, the team conducts an annual verification of technology inventory to ensure accuracy, accountability, and the safety of both employees and campus systems.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to remain attentive to official communications from the Desktop Endpoint team, particularly when updates or confirmations are required. Additionally, any changes to the location, assignment, or condition of technology assets should be reported promptly to maintain the integrity of institutional records.
